Technological Barriers Causing Productivity Delays: New Study

Businesses of all size and scope know the value of enhancing productivity and getting more out of their employees.

This is why platforms such as smart forms and document automation which allow for a more streamlined and cohesive management of information are becoming increasingly popular in organizations around the world.

However with so many business process automation options available, it is important to take the time to identify the most reliable and easily integrated solution in order to ensure employees get the most out of your investment.

A recent survey from the cloud-based application platform creator TrackVia has highlighted this fact, identifying that technological issues are among the biggest barriers to productivity faced by employees today.

Of the 300 US based non C-level employees involved in the study, 11 per cent identified dealing with computer or software problems as the biggest waste of time in their workdays.

Not surprisingly, social issues were another big area where productivity was lost. 14 per cent of respondents said chatting with co-workers was the biggest source of time wastage in their day, while five per cent named social media such as Facebook and Twitter.

Interestingly, 15 per cent of respondents said that they spent between one and two hours every week addressing misunderstandings related to internal miscommunications. A further seven per cent named this as an even bigger issue, taking up more than three hours per week.
