Release Notes - Infiniti 8.6.5

Applies to Infiniti v8.6.5 onwards
Introduction: Infiniti 8.6.5

Infiniti by Intelledox helps organizations to nurture and control business processes through document automation, smart web forms (e-forms), batch processing and CRM. It is an award-winning product that allows businesses to produce smarter, targeted customer communications while easing the burden of paperwork and red tape.

Infiniti, by Intelledox, seamlessly integrates with an organization’s existing technology investments, including SharePoint, TRIM, TIBCO and Compuware Changepoint. Infiniti uses the native power of Microsoft Office while leveraging sophisticatd rules engines, audit trails and reporting to produce compliant, data-driven documents.

Unlike other business process automation software that can only produce outputs in one type of file or format, Infiniti can generate multi-format, multi-channel documents in DOC, DOCX, PDF, XML, PPT, SMS, email and many more.

This is a product release that delivers additional functionality over the previous customer version of Infiniti (Version 8.6.4).

Infiniti 8.6.5 features
Infiniti 8.6.5 introduces the following new features and updates over the previous public release version of Infiniti V8.6.4:

Mobile clients - Data source lookup when in "offline" mode
There is now an ability to specify a data object to be cached for use with the mobile clients. This will allow users to cache a data source and access its data even while being offline.
Data Objects now have a new setting that enables their data to be cached by mobile clients and used when in an "offline mode" scenario.

Data Source support
Data Caching is now supported for the following data source types:
  • V 8.6.5 support:
    • Infiniti DS,
    • OLEDB (table(s) / view(s)),
    • XML and
    • CSV data types.
  • Works for the following DS settings:
    • Single Row - Dropdown
    • Multiple Rows - List box
    • Other options involving search/filters are not supported in 8.6.5....
The cache checkbox and duration will only appear (in Manage) if you have the mobile app licensed.
When a data source cache expires the mobile clients will see a label indicating that the cache has expired, to clear this message head back to the home screen and synchronise.
Mobile Client App are now able to start/initiate workflow projects
Infiniti V 8.6.5 now allows the mobile client apps (Windows and iPad) to initiate/start workflow projects.

As we don't have a full list of users or groups on the mobile device, the mobile client app will only support workflows that go to a fixed user or group (Specified) from the (Start) state. Consequently, If a project has multiple transitions from the (Start) only one of them needs to be a "fixed assign to". When the user selects one of the other states they will get a warning message and be unable to proceed.

The ability to continue progressing a workflow assigned to the user operating the mobile device is NOT included in this functionality. That can only be performed via Produce.
Likert Scale display option is available for Group Logic questions
A Likert scale is commonly involved in research that employs questionnaires. It is the most widely used approach to scaling responses in survey research.
A Likert item is simply a statement in which the respondent is required to provide responses to a set of criteria; generally the level of agreement or disagreement with each criterion is measured. It is considered symmetric or "balanced" because there are equal numbers of positive and negative positions.  The most common approach is to use a set of five responses for each criteria – evenly balanced around the middle as shown in the example below:
  1. Strongly disagree
  2. Disagree
  3. Neither agree nor disagree
  4. Agree
  5. Strongly agree

Group Logic questions in Design
For each Group Logic question, the “display” type can be set to Likert-Scale. This setting would ensure that in produce, the answers of a Group Logic question would appear in a horizontal line with the answer text for each option being displayed under the corresponding check box.
