Release Notes - Infiniti 8.4

Applies to Infiniti v8.4 or later
Introduction - Infiniti 8.4
Infiniti by Intelledox helps organizations to nurture and control business processes through document automation, smart web forms (e-forms), batch processing and CRM. It is an award-winning product that allows businesses to produce smarter, targeted customer communications while easing the burden of paperwork and red tape.

Infiniti by Intelledox seamlessly integrates with an organization’s existing technology investments, including SharePoint, TRIM, TIBCO and Compuware Changepoint.  Infiniti uses the native power of Microsoft Office while leveraging sophisticated rules engines, audit trails and reporting to produce compliant, data-driven documents.

Unlike other business process automation software that can only produce outputs in one type of file or format, Infiniti can generate multi-format, multi-channel documents in DOC, DOCX, PDF, XML, PPT, SMS, email and many more.

Infiniti 8.4 takes Intelledox’s solution set to the next level. This is a product release that delivers significantly enhanced functionality, speed and user experience over the previous customer version of Infiniti (Version 8.2).

Infiniti 8.4 features

Infiniti 8.4 introduces the following new features and updates over the previous public release version of Infiniti – V8.2.3.40:

Multi-Tenant user support

This is a major innovation in Infiniti. Infiniti V 8.4 now delivers a solution that permits an end user to host an Infiniti Instance on high performance infrastructure. The purpose of this exercise is to permit this user to then host a number of tenant organisations in the single Infiniti instance. In this scenario, each tenant then has their own Infiniti work space (a sort of Infiniti Virtual Space) without having to invest in their own Infiniti infrastructure and services. The following diagram visualises this approach:

Audit Trails

Infiniti 8.4 introduces enhanced Audit Trail support. Audit trails can now be maintained on user activities surrounding user activities (create, edit, delete, access, etc.) in the following areas: Projects / Folder / Users / User Group-Roles / Content Library Items / Data - Custom Fields / Settings / Licenses / Workflows.

Switching on auditing in Infiniti-Manage:

In the SQL Server, the Audit events are stored in the “AuditLogs” table. At this stage, there is no UI – the user will have to create their own custom view to extract and report on the information.

Enhanced mobility

Infiniti on more devices and in more locations than ever before.

Up to 43 per cent faster processing times

Performance and memory utilisation has been improved by 43%. This delivers a faster user experience, especially when loading large volumes of data and other intensive activities.

Editable conditions

This feature allows specified Infiniti users to view but not edit information. For example, a financial advisor might help a client fill in home loan application form, which is then passed to another department for approval. Read-only conditions can be set to ensure that while others in the company can view the application, only the financial advisor and client can change or edit information.

The user can then set under what conditions this field is “editable” in when run in Produce. This is extremely powerful in workflows.

XML output

An enhanced ability for users to generate XML files. These files can then be delivered to third party applications.

New “INK” question type

This question type allows users to draw answers using a pencil tool. The most common usage envisaged of this question type would be for the purpose of capturing signatures. However, other applications based around annotating images are also anticipated. For example, a car insurance company can request a claimant to upload an image of their car and mark where damages have occurred. In a healthcare context, a patient may be shown an image of the human body and asked to circle areas of injury or pain.

Question references for default value of multi-select group logics

Group logic multi-select questions can now reference other questions. Users have the flexibility to configure references per answer for a group logic multi-select question, or simply set to selected/not selected (as in previous Infiniti versions). These references are evaluated when answer selections are made in Infiniti Produce.

Support for SQL Server Session State

Infiniti 8.4 can now ensure that the session state is preserved if the Web application is restarted and also makes session state available to multiple Web servers depending on the user’s infrastructure.

PostScript document generation

Enhanced support for PostScript (PS) document generation.

Password Security settings

Infiniti now makes it easier for Administrators to enforce Password Security on all users in Infiniti.
