Add a variable question

Applies to Infiniti v8.0 or later.

Adding a variable question

Variable questions provide a way to retrieve information from the system profile, user’s profile, or to calculate values from data collected in the question set. When added, the variable question requires you to specify a particular user/system profile field such as name, address line 1 or email, or to provide a formula to calculate a result. Formulas are not limited to numeric data as they can calculate dates and build strings.

To add a variable question follow the steps below.

1. From the toolbox, drag and drop a Variable question on to a page, section column or tab. Infiniti automatically adds an answer to the new question.
a)Select “[Formula]” from the “Variable” drop-down
        b) Enter the formula in the “Formula” text box. See Infiniti design functions for a listing of supported formulas

The variable question type is not visible to the end user in Produce.
Multiple answers can be added to the Variable question type to perform additional calculations or to retrieve additional information from the user or system profile.
