Join() and Joinand() Functions

The Join and Joinand functions are useful when multiple values from a data source or repeating section need to be combined into a properly formed sentence. For example:

  • Australia
  • New Zealand
  • America
  • England

Join()

The first parameter is used as a separator for the items in second parameter.

Parameters

Join(SEPARATOR,REFERENCE)

Example Formula

Join(", ",[Q1.Country])

Output

Australia, New Zealand, America, England

Joinand()

The first parameter is used as a separator for the items in third parameter. The second parameter ("and ") is used to separate the last two items.

Parameters

Joinand(SEPARATOR,LASTITEMSEPARATOR,REFERENCE)

Example Formula

Joinand(", ","and ",[Q1.Country])

Output

Australia, New Zealand, America and England
