ORACLE Data Sources and Connection Strings

Applies to Infiniti v8.1.3 or later

Infiniti can connect to ORACLE via OLEDB and ODBC providers. In all scenarios an ORACLE client needs to be installed and configured on the web server.

It is good practice to ensure a connection between the Infiniti Web Server and the ORACLE database is achievable before testing in Infiniti. A good test is to use a UDL file from the web server.

Once a connection is possible a Data Source can be added in Infiniti, depending on the drivers you have installed on the web server the following are good connection string examples.

OLEDB

Provider=OraOLEDB.Oracle.1;Password=infiniti;Persist Security Info=True;User ID=infiniti;Data Source=TESTORACLE

ODBC

Driver={Oracle in OraClient11g_home1};Dbq=myTNSServiceName;Uid=myUsername;Pwd=myPassword;
Driver={Oracle in OraDb11g_home1};Dbq=TESTORACLE;Uid=infiniti;Pwd=infiniti;
