Display message properties action

Applies to Infiniti v8.1 or later

 
 
The Display Message action grants designers the ability to deliver output messages to the end user after document generation

To do this:

1. Add an Action to the Finish Page (refer to Add an Action to a Project article)
2. Select the Display Message action from the Type drop-down menu and click  OK

     

3. The Display Message action will now be added to the finish page of your project

    

4. Select the Display Message action on the finish page
5. Ensure that the Properties tab is selected
6. Under the Action Attribute section, select an Attribute to assign a value to.

From the above list, the Message attribute is mandatory. Any text inserted into this attribute is displayed as the message to the user at the end of the document generation process. The message can include supported HTML (HTML tags available only for Infiniti v8.1 or later)
    The following other attributes are available for the Display Message action, but are not mandatory:
    • Font Bold (true or false) - Accepts a true or false value to make the message font Bold.
    • Font Color - Setting this attribute will assign a color to the message
    • Font Italic (true or false) - Accepts a true or false value to make the message font Italic.
    • Font Name (Courier New) - Setting this attribute will assign a font type to the message
    • Font Size (100 pt) - Setting this attribute will configure the size of the font of the message
    • Heading - Setting this attribute will create a heading to supplement the message

7. After selecting an Attribute, select a Type

The following image displays available attribute types for the Display Message action

     
  • Answer Value - The value of an Attribute can be populated from the answer field of a question such as a text field
  • Data Question - The value of an Attribute can be populated from the data fields within a data source question
  • Fixed Value - The value of an Attribute can be set to a fixed, predetermined value. Note: question references are supported within Fixed Value answers.

8. Each Attribute must be added one at a time by selecting the Attribute, selecting a Type and selecting a corresponding Fixed Value and then clicking the Add button

10. Conditions may also be set on the Display Message action through the Conditions tab (refer to Defining Conditions article)

11. When the project is generated, the output screen should resemble below
